The stone above marks the Grave of Jemima MILLS-JAY 1768-c.bef.1850.
Located in the Cedar Creek Friends Cemetery. The stones were located by Don & Christy Jay a few years back. Christy says to day the stone with it's hand carved lettering can no longer be read.

Jesse Jay was a veteran of the Civil War He enlisted in the 14th. Iowa Infantry, Company "I", 05 Nov 1861 and was discharged 13 Nov 1864.
Jesse was taken as a prisoner of war by the Confederate Army at the battle of Shiloh at Pittsburgh landing ( The hornets Nest). 06 April 1862. While a prisoner Jesse kept a Diary here is a transcrption of part of that diary written while a prisoner of War.
